Statement of the Afghanistan Freedom Front
1 December 2025
Dear Countrymen,
In these difficult days, our nation needs unity and solidarity more than ever before. Our shared homeland has been engulfed by the forces of extremism and terrorism. Over the past four years, nearly ten million Afghans have been forced to flee the country, facing endless hardship and displacement. Meanwhile, millions more inside Afghanistan have been deprived of their most basic human rights under the oppressive rule of the Taliban. Poverty, unemployment, and despair are rampant, while authoritarianism grows deeper with each passing day.
The Taliban’s tyrannical regime sustains itself through repression, discrimination, deceit, and conspiracy. In the current climate, fueling ethnic, linguistic, or sectarian divisions only prolongs Taliban rule and the suffering of our people.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front has closely monitored recent developments related to
our country and wishes to underscore the following points:
1. Afghanistan under Taliban rule has become a vast prison for our people and a safe haven for global extremists and terrorists. Ethnic, linguistic, and religious differences are undeniable realities of our society. Under these circumstances, the struggle for freedom and the restoration of the people’s ownership over their land and destiny is the most urgent priority and collective responsibility. Destructive and unnecessary disputes on social media only strengthen the Taliban’s propaganda and divisive agenda. Only after liberating the country from Taliban domination can we reach a new social agreement
one that recognizes cultural and religious diversity and defines us as a unified nation seeking progress and prosperity. Therefore, any debate that distracts from exposing Taliban crimes serves only the Taliban’s interests.
2. The presence of the international community during the 20 years of the Republic brought significant opportunities for Afghanistan, and countless heroes sacrificed their lives to protect the nation’s values and dignity. Members of the former Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are the true sons and daughters of the country, whose sacrifices demonstrated their deep loyalty to Afghanistan. The attack on members of the United States National Guard is an unjustifiable crime. However, extending the actions of individuals to an entire institution, or attributing crime to a group’s ethnicity or previous duty station, is wrong and misleading.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front calls upon all fronts, organizations, political groups, civil movements, public figures, and social media activists opposing the Taliban to unite in solidarity and collective action against this oppressive and illegitimate regime. We remain committed to our struggle until the day of victory, when freedom, equality, and the dignity and pride of the Afghan people are restored.
