Statement of the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) regarding the terrorist attacks in the United States of America and the Republic of Tajikistan

27 November 2025

The Taliban-controlled Islamic Emirate in Kabul has become a hub for exporting terrorism and violent extremism to the region and the world.

Yesterday, an armed assailant, reportedly a national of Afghanistan, injured two members of the U.S. National Guard in Washington, D.C. The incident sparked widespread reaction across the United States and internationally, raising serious concerns about the spread of extremism and terrorism originating from Afghanistan under Taliban rule.

AFF firmly condemns this horrific and hateful attack. While it trusts the ongoing investigations by U.S. intelligence and security agencies, it maintains that the attacker was influenced by the propaganda networks, psychological warfare, and espionage operations affiliated with the Taliban and other aligned terrorist groups.

AFF appreciates the support and refuge the United States and other partner nations have provided to migrants from Afghanistan, especially former members of the national armed forces, over the past four years. However, it is alarmed by the negative consequences that acts of terrorism or criminal behaviour by individuals among the refugee population from Afghanistan could cause, including rising xenophobia and hostility toward migrants from Afghanistan in host countries.

At the same time, a separate attack launched from Afghanistan territory, carried out using drones with generades and light to medium weapons, targeted a camp of Chinese workers in Tajikistan’s Khatlon region, resulting in the deaths of three Chinese nationals and injuring several others. The incident triggered a strong response from the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs, even as the Taliban continues efforts to pursue diplomatic outreach with Central Asian states.

AFF, which has repeatedly warned that Afghanistan under Taliban control is turning into a safe haven and incubator for violent extremism and terrorism, holds the Taliban and their global and regional allies responsible for both attacks. It urges regional governments and major world powers to end policies of engagement and accommodation toward the Taliban’s terrorist regime. Failure to do so, it warns, will result in a new surge of extremist and terrorist activity across the region and beyond.
