The Afghanistan Freedom Front condemns the suicide attack on a Shiite mosque in Islamabad, the capital city of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and considers such attacks inhumane and criminal acts.

Attacks on public places especially mosques and places of worship constitute crimes against humanity and are attempts to inflame sectarian and religious tensions across the region.

From the perspective of the Afghanistan Freedom Front, such crimes which over the past two decades were carried out as one of the Taliban’s wartime tactics against the people and the former ANDSF are now being employed by the group’s allies against neighboring countries.

Countries in the region, including Pakistan, considering the bitter experience of the collapse of a constitutional, law-based order in Afghanistan, must adjust and strengthen their defense and security strategies to confront terrorism practiced in the Taliban’s customary manner and by their allied and like-minded terrorist groups.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front unequivocally condemns any terrorist act that targets civilian citizens and civilian sites. AFF considers such terroristic and anti-human actions part of a broader process of the spread of terrorism and the destabilization of countries in the region.
